Stack Multiple Damage-Boosting Enchantments

Compatible Damage Enchantments

Crossbows can now receive Power (the crossbow equivalent of bow damage), as well as other damage-related enchantments that were previously bow-exclusive. You can combine these on a single crossbow for increased damage output.

Building Your Enchanted Crossbow

Start by enchanting or finding enchanted books for the damage enchantments you want. Use an anvil to combine them onto your crossbow one at a time. Each combination increases the anvil's experience cost, but the enchantments will stack.

Experience Cost Considerations

Combining multiple enchantments on one item increases the penalty for each subsequent combination. Plan your enchantments carefully—you may want to combine books together first before applying them to your crossbow to reduce total experience spending.

Testing Your Weapon

Once complete, test your crossbow against mobs to see the cumulative damage increase. The combination of multiple enchantments creates a significantly more powerful weapon than a standard crossbow, making it viable for challenging content.
