Create a Utility Crossbow with Knockback and Flame

Selecting Utility Enchantments

Beyond pure damage, crossbows can now receive utility enchantments previously limited to bows. Knockback launches enemies away, while Flame sets them on fire. These enchantments add tactical options to your crossbow gameplay.

Gathering Enchanted Books

Obtain enchanted books for Knockback and Flame through enchanting tables, fishing, or loot chests. You may need to enchant multiple books to get the specific enchantments you want.

Combining on Your Crossbow

Use an anvil to apply these enchantments to your crossbow. Add them one at a time, starting with whichever you prefer. The order doesn't affect the final result, only the cumulative experience cost.

Practical Uses

A Knockback crossbow is excellent for crowd control, pushing multiple enemies away simultaneously. Adding Flame creates additional damage over time and can ignite blocks or activate redstone mechanisms. This combination makes your crossbow effective for both combat and utility purposes, giving you more options than a standard damage-focused weapon.
