Transition from Sword to Bow for Combat
Why Switch to an Enchanted Bow
With Looting, Mending, and Infinity available on bows, they're now viable primary weapons for both combat and resource gathering. This guide helps you adapt your playstyle.
Building Your Combat Bow
1. Start with Power (increases damage per level).
2. Add Punch (knockback to control mob positioning).
3. Include Looting (bonus rare drops during combat).
4. Apply Mending and Infinity (unlimited arrows and self-repair).
5. Optional: Add Flame for additional damage over time.
Combat Adjustments
- Range advantage: Bows let you damage mobs from further away than swords.
- Positioning: Keep distance and strafe to avoid damage.
- Arrow management: With Infinity, you only need one arrow in inventory.
- Repair strategy: Collect experience orbs from killed mobs to keep Mending active.
When to Use Your Bow
- Large mob encounters where range is safer.
- Farming sessions where Looting benefits matter.
- Situations where knockback helps control enemy movement.
- Any time you want to avoid close-range combat risks.
