Conduct a Probe Rescue Mission
Identify a Crashed Probe
When a space probe fails to return or crashes, the Codex alerts you with its last known location. Use the celestial telescope to pinpoint the crash site coordinates on a distant planet or in orbit.
Prepare for Rescue
Rescue missions require you to gather specific recovery items—typically specialized tools or replacement parts listed in the Codex. Craft or obtain these items before launching your rescue probe.
Launch and Retrieve
Assemble a rescue probe with the required components and target the crash site. The rescue probe will attempt to recover lost cargo and probe fragments. Missions may take longer than standard collection flights.
Recover Your Cargo
When the rescue probe returns, collect the recovered materials and parts from the landing site. Salvaged probe components can be repaired and reused, or broken down for resources.
Retrieved alien matter and rare materials are valuable for upgrades and advanced crafting. Failed rescue missions still return partial cargo, so don't abandon crashed probes.
