Build and Launch Your First Space Probe
Assemble the Probe
Craft probe components using materials gathered from your world. The exact parts vary, but typically include a probe body, collection module, and power cell. Refer to the Codex for the full recipe list.
Place an automated launch pad in an open area. Arrange probe components on the launch pad according to the assembly pattern shown in the Codex.
Target a Destination
Build a celestial telescope and place it where it has clear sky access. Use the telescope interface to scan for distant planets and star systems. Each scan reveals potential targets with different resource types and mission durations.
Launch and Monitor
Once your probe is assembled and a target is selected, activate the launch pad. Your probe will launch into orbit and begin its collection mission. Use the telescope to track your probe's progress in real time.
When the mission completes, the probe returns automatically. Collect the cargo from the landing site and retrieve any recovered materials or alien matter.
