Optimize Shader Performance on Lower-End Systems

Identify Performance Bottlenecks

Enable the FPS counter and monitor frame rates in different environments. Water-heavy areas and bright sunlight typically demand more resources. Note where your performance dips most significantly.

Reduce Visual Quality Settings

Access the shader menu and lower settings in this order: water reflection quality, shadow distance, and lighting detail. Everune Shaders is designed for mid-range systems, so these adjustments should maintain the vanilla aesthetic while improving frame rates.

Disable or Reduce Effects Selectively

Turn off surface reflections on non-water blocks if needed, or reduce their intensity. Many shader options allow per-feature toggling—disable only what impacts your performance most.

Monitor Results

After each adjustment, spend time in demanding areas (large oceans, bright skies) to confirm improvements. Aim for stable frame rates above your monitor's refresh rate. The shader's design means you shouldn't need extreme reductions to achieve smooth gameplay.
