Monitor Potion Effect Duration on Mobs

Understanding Effect Duration Events

EventsLib Mod allows you to track how long a potion effect will remain active on any mob or player. Other mods use this system to trigger actions based on effect timers—for example, dealing extra damage when Strength is about to expire, or applying a bonus when Weakness is halfway through.

How Duration Monitoring Works

The mod runs passively and exposes potion effect duration percentages to dependent mods. You won't see this directly in-game, but mods that depend on EventsLib can:

  • Check if a specific effect is currently active on a target
  • Read how much time remains before the effect expires
  • Calculate the effect's progress as a percentage
  • Trigger custom events at specific duration thresholds

What You Need to Do

Simply have EventsLib installed alongside any mod that uses its event system. The dependent mod will automatically hook into EventsLib's listeners. Apply potion effects normally through commands, potions, or other mod features—EventsLib handles the monitoring silently in the background without requiring player input or configuration.
