Optimize Bloom and Glow Effects for Light Sources
Access Bloom Settings
In the shader menu, find the Bloom, Glow, or Post-Processing section. This controls how torches, lanterns, and bright objects emit light.
Adjust Bloom Radius and Intensity
Modify these parameters to control:
- Bloom strength: How bright and far the glow extends from light sources
- Bloom radius: The size of the glowing halo around torches and lanterns
- Threshold: Which brightness level triggers the bloom effect
Tailor to Your Setup
On weaker systems, reduce bloom intensity slightly to maintain frame rates while keeping the warm, cinematic feel. Stronger bloom creates a more magical atmosphere but costs more performance.
Test your settings in dark areas like caves or at night—this is where bloom effects are most visible. Torches, lanterns, and glowstone should emit a soft, warm glow. If the effect feels too washed out, increase intensity; if it's too bright and distracting, decrease it. Sunbeams and sky lighting should also feel softer and more natural with proper bloom tuning.
