Create Atmospheric Effects for Different Times of Day
Understand Time-Based Lighting
Ethereal Shaders automatically adjusts lighting based on Minecraft's day-night cycle. The shader shifts color temperature and brightness to create dawn, noon, dusk, and night atmospheres without requiring manual changes.
Customize Time-Specific Looks
In shader settings, look for time-of-day or atmosphere controls:
- Sunrise/Sunset: Adjust warm orange and red tones that appear near horizon
- Midday: Control how harsh or soft noon sunlight feels
- Night: Set how blue moonlight appears and whether stars are visible
- Ambient light: Control how much light fills shadows during different times
Test Across a Full Cycle
Use the /time command to cycle through day phases and observe how your settings look at each stage. Sunrise and sunset are most dramatic—these times showcase the shader's fantasy-realistic blend best. Adjust color temperature and brightness to match your preferred mood, then let the shader handle transitions automatically as time passes.
