Adjust Volumetric Fog Intensity for Better Visibility

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls menu under shader settings). Look for the Atmosphere or Fog section in the settings panel.

Fine-Tune Fog Density

Locate the volumetric fog slider or fog density value. If visibility is too low during morning or evening, reduce the fog intensity gradually. If the atmosphere feels flat, increase it slightly. Test changes in different times of day—fog effects vary significantly between sunrise, noon, and sunset.

Optimize for Your Hardware

Volumetric fog is performance-intensive. If you experience frame drops, lower the fog quality or density setting. Conversely, if your system handles it well, increase the setting to enhance the cinematic atmosphere during golden hour.

Apply and Test

Save your changes and move to different elevations—mountains, valleys, and water surfaces—to see how fog behaves across varied terrain. Adjust until the balance between visual appeal and performance feels right for your playstyle.
