How to Get Moth Fuzz and Use Rosy Maple Moths

Rosy Maple Moths are the mod's signature mob, and their drop, Moth Fuzz, feeds into several recipes including bedding and decorative blocks. Farming them is straightforward once you know where to look.

Finding and Spawning Moths

Rosy Maple Moths spawn naturally in the world at night, similar to other passive flying mobs. They are harmless, so you can approach them without armor. To farm them efficiently, build a small dark enclosure with a roof so they spawn in a controlled area, and keep the space lit only enough to prevent other hostile mobs.

Collecting Moth Fuzz

When a Rosy Maple Moth is killed, it drops Moth Fuzz. You can also shear or otherwise harvest from them depending on how the mod handles it in your version, so try both a sword and shears. Moth Fuzz is used to craft Rosy Maple Wool, which in turn becomes Rosy Maple Wool Carpet, Quilted Rosy Maple Wool, and the Quilted Rosy Maple Bed. It also appears in the recipe for the Rosy Maple Elytra, a decorative flight item. Set up a breeding pen with two moths and a supply of their breeding food so you have a renewable source of Fuzz instead of hunting wild ones.
