Use Custom Fonts in Your Mod's Text Displays

Accessing Available Fonts

ESC Extra Special Core Mod bundles several pre-loaded fonts ready for use across compatible mods. When a mod built on ESC renders text—whether in menus, tooltips, or HUD elements—it automatically pulls from the shared font library. The included fonts like Fira Code, Monocraft, and Unifont are optimized for readability at different scales.

How Text Rendering Works

You don't need to manually select fonts in most cases. Mods using ESC will automatically apply the appropriate font based on context:

  • Monocraft appears in code-like displays and technical menus
  • Unifont handles special characters and symbol support
  • Fira Code renders in standard UI panels and guides

If a mod offers font preferences in its settings, you can switch between available options there. The mod will remember your choice across sessions.

Checking Font Rendering

Open any ESC-compatible mod's menu or guide screen. Text should appear crisp and uniform. If fonts look blurry or misaligned, verify your GUI scale setting in Minecraft's video options—ESC fonts scale cleanly at standard settings.
