Reduce Lag from Too Many Sword Trail Particles

Identify Performance Issues

If your frame rate drops during combat, especially when multiple mobs attack or you perform rapid sword swings, excessive sword trail particles are likely the cause.

Lower Particle Density Settings

Access your mod configuration and reduce the particle count or emission rate for sword trails. Decreasing the number of glowing particles spawned per swing directly improves performance. Start by reducing the value moderately and test in combat.

Disable Overlapping Effects

The mod warns against enabling too many overlapping blade flashes simultaneously. Check your settings for options controlling how many trail effects can render at once. Limit concurrent effects to prevent particle overload during group fights.

Adjust Particle Lifetime

Reduce how long individual trail particles remain visible before fading. Shorter lifespans mean fewer particles exist on screen at any moment, easing the load on your GPU.

Disable Mob Attack Trails

If enemy sword trails are causing lag, consider disabling visual effects on mob attacks while keeping your own trails enabled. This significantly reduces total particle count during battles.
