Reduce Lag or Performance Impact

Limit Detection Range

Open the options menu with Right-Shift and reduce the entity detection distance. Tracking entities closer to your position uses fewer resources than scanning a massive radius around you.

Disable Unnecessary Entity Types

Turn off visibility for entity categories you don't need. If you only care about hostile mobs, disable passive animals and players. Each disabled category lightens the mod's workload.

Toggle X-ray Selectively

Press X to disable Entity X-ray when you don't actively need it—for example, while building, crafting, or in safe areas. Re-enable it only when exploring dangerous terrain or searching for specific entities.

Monitor Your System

If performance issues persist, try reducing the rendering distance further or disabling the mod temporarily to identify whether it's the culprit. The mod's impact scales with how many entities are loaded in your world.

Use Commands for Fine Control

The /xray command provides additional configuration options. Check the command help for performance-related settings you can adjust without reopening the options menu.
