Read and Understand Entity Data Output

What Information Gets Displayed

When you hit an entity with the Information Stick, chat will show:

  • Entity Name & Type: The display name and technical entity type
  • UUID & Entity ID: Unique identifiers for tracking the specific entity
  • Position Coordinates: Exact X, Y, Z location in the world
  • Ticks Existed: How long the entity has been alive (in game ticks)
  • Silence Status: Whether the entity produces sounds
  • Mod Origin: Which mod added the entity (if not vanilla)

Using This Data

This information is especially useful for mod developers debugging entity behavior, but players can also use it to:

  • Verify entity locations for farms or builds
  • Check if custom mobs from other mods are spawning correctly
  • Track entity lifespans and behavior patterns
  • Identify which mod an unfamiliar entity comes from
