Fixing Silent or Missing Sounds After Enabling the Pack
Check the Load Order First
If some sounds play but others are silent, the most common cause is a conflict with another resource pack. Resource packs load from top to bottom, and the topmost pack wins for any file it contains. If another pack also modifies sounds and sits above Enhanced Audio, it may be replacing the same files with incomplete or broken versions. Drag Enhanced Audio to the top of the Selected list and test again.
Verify the Pack Is Not Corrupted
A partially downloaded or incorrectly extracted pack can cause missing audio. If you extracted the archive, make sure the folder structure inside matches what Minecraft expects — a pack.mcmeta file and an assets folder at the top level, not buried inside an extra subfolder. If the pack is still zipped, confirm the zip opens cleanly and is not truncated.
Rule Out Other Causes
Check your in-game volume sliders under Options > Music & Sound. The "Master Volume" and individual categories like Blocks, Hostile Creatures, and Ambient must be turned up. Also confirm your operating system's output device is correct and not muted. If only specific categories are silent, that points to a pack conflict rather than a hardware issue.
