How to Survive and Fight Biome-Specific Endermen
Each biome-specific enderman has its own quirks, and treating them all like vanilla endermen will get you killed. This guide covers the general survival rules that apply across variants.
Aggro and Line of Sight
Most variants still react to being looked at directly, but some — like the Cave or Badlands variants — may aggro on proximity or on being attacked first. Wear a carved pumpkin if you want to avoid accidental eye contact while exploring. If a variant does not care about eye contact, a pumpkin is wasted and you should wear a real helmet instead.
Terrain Matters
Snowy and Icy variants fight on slippery ground, so bring boots with Frost Walker or just avoid sprinting. Nether variants (Crimson, Warped, Soul Sand Valley) can knock you into lava — never fight them near a ledge. Cave variants ambush in tight tunnels, so carry a shield and fight with your back to a wall.
Damage and Drops
Each variant drops its themed pearl plus Enderman Teeth. Use a Looting sword to increase drops. If a variant teleports when hit, corner it against a wall or use a ranged weapon to chip it down. Do not chase a teleporting enderman into unlit caves — you will lose it and probably die.
