How to Craft and Use the Corrupted Blade and Shield

The Corrupted Blade and Corrupted Shield are the mod's signature combat gear, made from Enderman Teeth and pearls. They behave differently from vanilla swords and shields, so read the tooltips before heading into a fight.

Crafting the Gear

Once you have Enderman Teeth in your inventory, open your recipe book or JEI/REI and search "corrupted." The blade and shield recipes unlock automatically. You will need teeth plus at least one pearl type — the exact pearl varies, so check the recipe viewer rather than guessing. Craft the shield first if you play on higher difficulty; the blade's damage is strong but its swing timing takes practice.

Using Them in Combat

Equip the Corrupted Shield in your offhand like a vanilla shield, but note it may have different blocking behavior or a special effect on block. The Corrupted Blade typically applies an effect on hit — test it on a dummy mob first to see what happens. Against the mod's own endermen, corrupted gear often performs better than iron or diamond equivalents.

Durability and Repair

Check the item's durability bar after a few fights. Repair using the material shown in the anvil UI (usually teeth or a pearl). Carry spare teeth in your inventory so you can top up mid-adventure without returning to base.
