How to Craft and Use Crude Steel in Ender IO Endergy
Crude Steel is the entry point of the Endergy progression, sitting between basic iron and the more advanced alloys. You will need it before you can make anything else in the mod.
Getting the Materials
Smelt iron in a normal furnace or alloy smelter to get the base ingot, then combine it with the appropriate additive in an Alloy Smelter. The recipe is intentionally cheap so you can mass-produce it early. Crude Steel Nuggets can be crafted back into ingots in a 3x3 grid, which is handy when you have leftover nuggets from crafting.
What to Do With It
Crude Steel Ingots are used to craft the Crude Steel Block (a storage block) and the Crude Steel Grinding Ball. The grinding ball goes into a SAG Mill to boost ore output — it is the weakest tier, but it is far better than running the mill with no ball at all. Crude Steel is also a stepping stone toward Crystalline Alloy, so keep a stack or two in reserve. If you are short on iron, set up an automated alloy smelter fed by a hopper so you always have Crude Steel on hand for the next tier.
