How to Farm and Combine New Enchantments Using Anvils

Merging Enchanted Items

Once you've collected enchanted gear from mobs or the enchanting table, you can combine enchantments using an anvil. This lets you build powerful custom tools and weapons.

Combining Enchantments

Step 1: Place your primary item (the one you want to keep) in the anvil's left slot.

Step 2: Place a second enchanted item in the right slot. This item should have an enchantment you want to transfer.

Step 3: The anvil shows the result. If compatible, the enchantment transfers to your primary item.

Step 4: Collect your newly enchanted tool. Note that anvil operations cost experience levels.

Farming Strategy

Hunt mobs repeatedly to gather multiple copies of items with the same enchantment. This gives you flexibility when combining. Keep a dedicated storage area organized by enchantment type so you can quickly find what you need for your next anvil project.

Tip

Some enchantments may conflict or have level limits. Experiment carefully, as failed combinations waste resources.
