Find and Insert an Emoji into Chat

Using the Auto-Complete Menu

The fastest way to add emojis to your messages is through the built-in suggestion system.

1. Open your chat box (default: T key)

2. Type a colon : to trigger the emoji menu

3. Start typing the name of what you want (e.g., :smile, :heart, :fire)

4. Browse the filtered suggestions that appear

5. Click on an emoji or use arrow keys to select it, then press Enter

6. The emoji code will be replaced with the actual symbol

7. Finish typing your message and send

Browsing Without Typing

If you don't know the exact name, just type : and scroll through the full list of available emojis. The menu shows hundreds of options organized by type, so you can explore faces, nature, objects, and symbols. Hover over any emoji to see its code name, which helps you remember it for next time.

Once you find an emoji you like, click it to insert it into your chat. The symbol will appear in full color if you have a compatible resource pack installed.
