How to Use Embeddium to Boost FPS in a Modded Minecraft World

Embeddium is a rendering optimization mod, so most of its work happens automatically the moment you launch the game. You do not need to craft anything or place any blocks to benefit from it. The goal is simply to make sure it is active and then tune the settings it exposes so your frame rate improves.

Confirm Embeddium is Running

1. Launch your modded profile and load into any world.

2. Open the video settings screen. Embeddium replaces the vanilla rendering options with its own layout, so if you see new categories like performance, quality, and advanced options, the mod is loaded.

3. If you still see the plain vanilla video menu, Embeddium is not active in that profile — check that it is in the same mod loader instance as your other mods.

Tune the Settings That Matter Most

  • Lower the render distance first. This is the single biggest lever for frame rate.
  • Reduce entity and block-entity related distances if your world has many mobs or machines.
  • Turn off fancy leaves, fancy clouds, and smooth lighting if you want maximum performance.
  • Keep VSync off unless you get screen tearing, and cap your frame rate only if your GPU runs hot.

After each change, walk around a busy area of your base and watch the frame rate counter. Change one option at a time so you know which setting actually helped.
