Fixing Crashes and Compatibility Problems with Embeddium

Embeddium exists specifically to work well with the Forge modding ecosystem, but conflicts can still happen when another mod tries to change the same rendering code. If your game crashes on startup or while loading a world, the fix is usually about finding the mod that clashes with Embeddium.

Read the Crash Log First

1. Open your game's crash report or latest log file.

2. Look for the line that mentions Embeddium or the rendering pipeline.

3. Note the name of any other mod mentioned right next to it — that is your likely conflict.

Common Fixes

  • Remove or update any other performance mod that also rewrites chunk rendering. Running two of them at once is a frequent cause of crashes.
  • If a shader or graphics mod misbehaves, disable it and test again before blaming Embeddium.
  • Make sure every mod in your pack targets the same Minecraft version as Embeddium. Mixing versions is a very common source of failure.
  • If the crash only happens in one world, try a fresh test world to rule out corrupted chunk data.

If the game still crashes, disable Embeddium temporarily and confirm the crash disappears. That tells you whether Embeddium is the cause or just an innocent bystander in a larger mod conflict.
