Use Shader Packs with Embeddium
Shader Compatibility
Embeddium is designed to work as the rendering engine for Oculus shader packs. Unlike some rendering mods, Embeddium's modern OpenGL implementation provides stable shader support without crashes or visual glitches.
Setting Up Shaders
1. Install Oculus mod – Oculus is the shader loader that works with Embeddium. Both mods must be present in your mods folder.
2. Add shader files – Place .zip shader packs into your shaderpacks folder (created automatically after first launch).
3. Load shaders in-game – Open Options > Shaders. You'll see a list of available packs. Click to select one.
4. Adjust shader settings – Most shader packs include configuration options accessible from the Shaders menu. Tweak quality, performance, and visual effects to your preference.
5. Verify performance – Shaders are GPU-intensive. If FPS drops significantly, lower your render distance or choose a lighter shader pack. Embeddium's efficiency means you can run shaders at playable framerates even in modpacks.
