Troubleshoot Rendering Issues and Crashes

Common Rendering Problems

Embeddium fixes many rendering bugs in modpacks, but conflicts with other mods or incorrect settings can cause visual glitches or crashes. Most issues stem from incompatible rendering mods or outdated graphics drivers.

Diagnostic Steps

1. Check for conflicting mods – Remove other rendering or graphics mods (like Optifine alternatives or custom renderers). Embeddium should be your only rendering engine.

2. Update graphics drivers – Embeddium uses modern OpenGL features. Outdated GPU drivers may cause crashes or visual corruption. Update to the latest driver version.

3. Review crash logs – If the game crashes, check your logs folder for latest.log. Search for errors mentioning OpenGL, shaders, or Embeddium to identify the cause.

4. Test without shaders first – If using Oculus shaders, disable them temporarily. Verify Embeddium alone runs smoothly before adding shader complexity.

5. Lower video settings – Reduce render distance, disable fancy graphics, or lower chunk updates if experiencing visual glitches. This isolates whether the issue is hardware-related or mod-related.
