Reduce Memory Usage During Long Play Sessions

Memory Optimization

Embeddium's rewritten graphics pipeline uses memory more efficiently than Minecraft's default renderer. This prevents gradual performance degradation during extended gameplay sessions where memory leaks or accumulation would normally cause stuttering.

Managing Memory Effectively

1. Monitor memory in F3 debug screen – Press F3 to open the debug overlay. Watch the memory bar (shown as used/max). Embeddium should keep memory usage stable over time.

2. Allocate appropriate RAM – Assign enough memory to your Java instance (typically 4–8 GB for modpacks). Embeddium works best with sufficient headroom; too little allocation negates its benefits.

3. Avoid excessive render distance – Higher render distances consume more memory. Balance visual range with available RAM. Embeddium handles moderate distances well.

4. Restart periodically – Even with Embeddium's optimizations, very long sessions (8+ hours) may accumulate minor leaks from other mods. Restart your game to clear memory.

5. Disable unused features – If running many visual mods alongside Embeddium, disable particle effects or entity rendering options in other mods to free additional memory.
