Using Glowing Ores to Improve Mining Efficiency

Enable Glowing Ores in Settings

Open your shader settings and ensure the "Glowing Ores and Blocks" option is enabled. This makes ore blocks emit their own light, making them stand out against stone.

Mining with Better Visibility

With glowing ores active, valuable ores like diamonds, emeralds, and gold become noticeably brighter in caves and underground tunnels. You don't need to rely solely on torches to spot them—the ores themselves illuminate.

Additional Glowing Blocks

Beyond ores, light-emitting blocks like Redstone, Glowstone, and Soul Lanterns also glow more prominently. This helps you:

  • Spot Redstone dust and components in contraptions
  • Navigate dark areas more easily
  • Build with better visual feedback on lighting

Balancing Aesthetics and Practicality

If the glow feels too intense or distracting, you can reduce it through the shader settings rather than disabling it entirely. This gives you mining efficiency without overwhelming your visual experience.
