Monitor Elytra Durability During Flight

Enable Durability Display

In Mod Menu settings, toggle on the durability HUD element. This shows your elytra's remaining durability as a percentage during flight, updated in real-time.

Read the Display

The durability indicator updates with each wing flap. Watch it during extended flights to know when you're approaching the point where your elytra will break.

Plan Your Landing

When durability drops to a critical level (typically around 10-20%), begin descending toward a safe landing spot. This prevents mid-air elytra failure and fall damage.

Combine with Altitude Tracking

Use the altitude display alongside durability. If you're high up and durability is low, prioritize descending immediately. If you're already near ground level, you have more flexibility.

Repair Before Long Flights

Before embarking on long-distance travel, repair your elytra fully using mending or an anvil. The durability display helps you track wear over multiple flights, so you know when maintenance is needed.

Mod Compatibility Note

If using Elytra Slot or similar mods, durability tracking works seamlessly with elytra stored in those slots.
