What Efficient Hashing Mod Does
Efficient Hashing Mod replaces the math Minecraft uses to turn a block's coordinates into a single number, called a hash. In vanilla, that math can produce the same number for different block positions, which causes the game to mix up where
blocks are. This mod swaps in a new system so each block position gets its own unique number.
Key Features
- Zero Hash Collisions: Every block position maps to a completely unique value, so positions are never confused with one another.
- Fixes Vanilla Errors: The normal game mixes up a large majority of block numbers; this mod removes that problem.
- PhiMix Math: A new calculation method handles block positions instead of the vanilla approach.
- Vanilla Compatibility: The starting block position still equals zero, so existing worlds behave consistently.
- Performance Trade-off: Hashing runs slightly slower, but this prevents the large math errors caused by collisions.
When to Use It
Install it if you notice block-related glitches or want more reliable position lookups. The cost is a small performance hit, so expect marginally slower hashing in exchange for correct results.
