Hide Timers on Ambient Effects While Keeping Them on Combat Buffs

Understand Ambient vs. Active Effects

Ambient effects are passive status effects that don't require active management—like Conduit Power while near a conduit, or Night Vision in certain situations. Active effects are buffs and debuffs you intentionally apply or that significantly impact gameplay.

Access Effect-Specific Settings

Open the Effect Timer Plus configuration and look for per-effect customization options or an "Ambient Effects" toggle. Some configurations allow you to create a whitelist or blacklist of effects.

Configure Visibility Rules

Enable the option to hide timers on ambient effects. This reduces visual clutter from effects you don't need to monitor closely.

If your mod supports it, manually specify which effects count as ambient. Common examples include Conduit Power, Water Breathing (when in water), and Fire Resistance (in safe situations).

Verify Your Setup

Apply various effects and observe which ones display timers. Combat-relevant buffs like Strength, Speed, and Resistance should show countdowns. Passive effects should have hidden or minimal indicators. Adjust your ambient effect list if you find certain effects should or shouldn't display timers based on your playstyle.
