Configure Text Color and Opacity for Better Readability

Access the Configuration Menu

Open your mod configuration settings (usually through a config button in the main menu or by pressing a designated key). Locate the Effect Timer Plus settings panel.

Adjust Text Appearance

Find the text color option and select your preferred shade. This affects both the potency indicator and countdown numbers displayed on effect icons.

Next, locate the opacity slider. Lower opacity makes text more transparent, useful if you find the overlay distracting. Higher opacity ensures text remains visible even with busy backgrounds.

Add Shadow or Background

Enable the shadow option to make text stand out against bright effect icons. This adds a dark outline around numbers, improving contrast.

Alternatively, enable the background option to place a solid or semi-transparent box behind the text. This is particularly helpful when effect icons have varied colors that might obscure unshaded text.

Test Your Settings

Drink a potion or apply an effect to yourself to preview your changes in real-time. Adjust opacity and shadow intensity until the timer is clearly readable without being visually overwhelming. Different text positions (top, bottom, center) may also affect readability—experiment to find your preference.
