How to Pick the Right Frame Style for Different Item Types
Matching Frames to Item Themes
Eclectic Trove gives you many frame styles, and the fun is pairing each one with items that fit its mood. Think about what the item represents and choose a border that reinforces that feeling.
Suggested Pairings
- Metals (gold, silver, copper): Use for currency, ingots, coins, and valuable trade goods. Gold suits treasure and trophies; silver suits refined or magical gear; copper suits
early-game or mechanical items. - Magic and nature (water, ice, smoke, flames, vines): Water and ice fit potions, aquatic drops, and cold-themed gear. Flames suit fire-related items and Nether goods. Vines suit plant drops, seeds, and organic materials. Smoke suits mysterious or cursed objects.
- Spooky and tough (bones, iron machinery, Deep Dark): Bones fit undead drops and fossils. Iron machinery fits redstone components and mechanical blocks. Deep Dark fits sculk-related items and anything from the deep underground.
Applying Your Choices
Decide your theme first, then edit the
Legendary Tooltips config to map each item or tag to the matching frame. Keep a consistent rule so players can learn your system at a glance — for example, all potions get water frames, all Nether items get flames.
