Reduce Shadow Intensity for Brighter Gameplay
Open Shader Configuration
Access the Earth Shaders settings menu during gameplay. This is usually bound to a hotkey in your controls menu.
Find Shadow Controls
Navigate to the lighting or shadow section of the shader options. Look for settings labeled "Shadow Strength," "Shadow Darkness," or "Shadow Softness."
Adjust Shadow Values
- Shadow strength: Decrease this value to make shadows lighter and less pronounced. This brightens areas under trees, buildings, and terrain features.
- Shadow softness: Increase this to create more gradual shadow transitions, reducing harsh dark spots.
- Ambient lighting: If available, boost this to add fill light to shadowed areas without removing shadows entirely.
Verify Changes in Different Environments
Move between shaded and open areas—under tree canopies, inside caves, and in direct sunlight—to ensure shadows remain realistic while meeting your brightness preferences.
Fine-Tune as Needed
Small adjustments often work better than dramatic changes. Make incremental tweaks and test gameplay in your preferred biomes to find the right balance between realism and visibility.
