Adjust Water Clarity and Reflection Intensity

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually found in your control settings). Look for the Earth Shaders configuration panel.

Modify Water Properties

Locate the water-related settings, typically grouped under "Water" or "Reflections." You'll find sliders controlling:

  • Water transparency: Adjust how deep you can see into water blocks. Lower values make water more opaque; higher values reveal the underwater terrain more clearly.
  • Reflection strength: Control how much the sky and surroundings mirror on the water surface. Reduce this if reflections feel too intense in bright conditions.
  • Wave intensity: Some versions allow tweaking water surface waviness for a calmer or more dynamic appearance.

Test Your Changes

Stand near different water bodies—oceans, rivers, and lakes—to see how adjustments affect each environment. Water behavior varies based on biome lighting and time of day, so test at different times.

Save Configuration

Confirm your changes in the shader menu. Settings typically save automatically, but check for a "Save" or "Apply" button to ensure changes persist after closing the game.
