How to Handle Blightwillow and Blighted Skyroot

Identifying Corrupted Trees

Blightwillow and Blighted Skyroot are the corrupted Dynamic Aether species. They look sickly compared to healthy Aether trees and drop Blightwillow Catkin and Blighted Skyroot Seed respectively. They tend to appear in blighted or darkened areas of the Aether, so if you see discolored foliage, you have found one.

Felling Safely

Chop the base log with an axe to fell the tree as normal. Dynamic Trees will propagate the fell through the trunk. Because these trees are associated with corruption, clear them fully — leaving stumps or stray logs may allow the blight to persist visually. Collect all dropped logs, catkins and seeds before moving on.

Replanting or Containing

You can replant Blightwillow Catkins and Blighted Skyroot Seeds if you want a supply of their wood, but keep them away from your main farm if you want a clean aesthetic. Plant them in an isolated plot with spacing so their canopies do not merge with healthy trees. If you are trying to restore an area, fell every corrupted tree and replant with healthy Skyroot or Enchanted seeds instead.
