How to Grow and Harvest Dynamic Aether Trees
Getting the Seed to Sprout
Dynamic Trees replaces vanilla sapling growth with a simulation, so you cannot just bonemeal a seed and expect a full tree. Place the seed on valid soil for its species (most Aether trees want Aether dirt or grass), then give it room. The sapling will grow on its own over time, but it needs open space above and around it — branches spread outward as the tree matures, so cramped builds will stall growth.
Harvesting Without Destroying the Tree
Right-click or left-click a grown log with an axe to chop it. Dynamic Trees fells the whole tree from the base, dropping logs and any attached produce. Do not chop mid-trunk expecting a clean result — always start at the bottom block touching the ground. Leaves drop their own items (catkins, cones, caps, seeds) when broken or when the tree is felled, so sweep the area afterward.
Collecting Species-Specific Drops
Different Aether trees give different harvests. Cones and catkins come from conifer-style trees, caps from mushroom trees like Jellyshroom, Cloudcap and Lightcap, and seeds from skyroot variants. Break the leaf blocks directly if you want a specific drop rather than felling the whole tree, since felling may scatter items into terrain. Replant any seed you collect to keep a renewable supply.
