Where Pillar Cactus Seeds Come From

Pillar cactus seeds are one of the two cactus seed types this mod adds, alongside pipe cactus seeds. You obtain them as drops from cactus trees — typically when harvesting or breaking parts of a mature dynamic cactus. Because the wiki lists them as a distinct item, treat them as the starting point for growing your own pillar cactus trees rather than something you craft.

Planting and Growing

Plant a pillar cactus seed the same way you'd plant a sapling: on a valid soil block (sand or dirt-type ground that supports cactus in your setup). Give it room — dynamic trees grow into multi-block structures, so don't cram seeds against walls or other trees. Once planted, let it grow naturally or apply bone meal if the mod permits it for cactus species. The seed becomes a growing cactus tree that eventually produces arms and, in the case of fruiting cacti, harvestable fruit.

Why Grow Them

Pillar cacti give you a renewable source of cactus green and, depending on the species, fruit. They also look far better than vanilla cactus walls for desert builds. If you're farming, plant several seeds in a grid with spacing so each tree has room to branch. Collect any new seeds that drop when you harvest so you can expand the farm without hunting for wild cacti.
