Use Handheld Lighting Effectively in Caves

Navigate Without Placing Torches

The main advantage of Dynamic Light Shaders is exploring caves hands-free:

1. Hold a torch, lantern, or glowstone in your main hand while exploring

2. The soft bloom effect illuminates nearby blocks as you walk

3. You can now navigate without stopping to place torches on walls

4. This saves resources and keeps your inventory free for mining

Choose Your Light Source

Different glowing items may produce slightly different lighting effects:

  • Torches: Classic, portable, and reliable
  • Lanterns: Larger light radius and more decorative appearance
  • Glowstone: Brightest option for deep caves

Switch between items depending on how much light you need and how far you want to see ahead. The bloom effect works with any handheld glowing block or item, making exploration flexible and efficient.

Keep a spare glowing item in your inventory in case you need to switch hands or your current light source breaks.
