Optimize Performance While Using Dynamic Lighting
Reduce Shader Load
Dynamic Light Shaders is designed to be lightweight, but you can further improve performance on older systems:
1. Lower your render distance—this reduces the number of blocks the shader must process
2. Disable or reduce bloom intensity in shader settings if available
3. Turn off other visual enhancements like ambient occlusion or parallax mapping
4. Use Fast graphics mode instead of Fancy
Monitor Frame Rate
Open the debug screen (F3 on most systems) to watch your FPS while holding a glowing item. If performance drops significantly:
- Reduce your draw distance further
- Disable dynamic shadows if your shader pack includes them
- Close unnecessary background applications
- Consider lowering your resolution temporarily
The mod is optimized for older computers, so most systems should handle it smoothly. If you still experience lag, the issue may be with other mods or shader features rather than Dynamic Light Shaders itself.
