Use Dynamic Fullbright Without Breaking Darkness-Based Mechanics
Understand What Stays Dark
Dynamic Fullbright adjusts *perceived* brightness for the player's vision, but it does not change the actual light level values that the game engine uses. This means:
- Mobs still spawn in genuinely dark areas (light level 0–7)
- Redstone and sculk sensors respond to real light levels, not visual brightness
- Crops and trees grow normally
Safe Configuration
To minimize interference with game mechanics, keep your minimum block light setting conservative—around 4–6. This makes dark areas visible to you without raising the actual light level high enough to prevent mob spawning or break farm mechanics.
Monitor Mob Spawning
If you notice fewer mobs spawning in caves or at night, your minimum light setting may be too high. Lower it slightly and test again.
Verify Redstone Behavior
Place a daylight detector or redstone comparator in a dark area and confirm it still responds as if the area is genuinely dark. If it doesn't, reduce your sky light minimum value.
This approach lets you see comfortably while keeping Minecraft's survival mechanics intact.
