Setting Up Battery Saver So Minecraft Doesn't Drain Your Laptop

If you play Minecraft on a laptop, you already know the fan spin-up and the battery bar dropping fast. Dynamic FPS can watch your power state and automatically reduce the game's workload the moment you unplug. Here's how to configure it.

Enable battery-aware behavior

1. Open the Dynamic FPS config and locate the battery or power section.

2. Turn on the option that makes the mod respond to battery power. When this is active, the mod applies a separate, more conservative set of limits whenever the device is running on battery rather than plugged in.

3. Set the frame rate limit for the on-battery state. Pick something noticeably lower than your normal cap — the goal is playable, not pretty.

4. If the mod offers a volume reduction or notification toggle for this state, decide whether you want a quiet, distraction-free session or a visible reminder that you're on battery.

5. Optionally enable the battery status display so you can see your charge level without leaving the game.

Test it

Unplug your charger while in-game and watch the frame rate. It should step down to your battery profile without a restart. Plug back in and it should return to your normal settings. If nothing changes, double-check that the battery option is actually enabled and not just the general idle timer.
