Understand the Durability Guard Warning System

Recognizing Low Durability Alerts

When your tool's durability drops below the configured threshold, the mod activates a visual warning system. This banner appears on your screen to alert you that your tool is approaching the end of its life and needs repair soon.

What Happens When Durability Guard Activates

Once the threshold is crossed, your tool stops functioning entirely—you cannot use it for mining, attacking, or any other purpose. This is intentional; the mod prioritizes preventing permanent tool loss over convenience. The warning banner will remain visible as long as the tool stays below the threshold.

Responding to the Warning

When you see the banner, you have two options:

1. Repair the tool using an anvil and appropriate repair materials (like iron ingots for iron tools)

2. Switch to a different tool that still has adequate durability

The mod does not automatically repair tools—you must manually restore durability. Plan ahead during mining trips by bringing spare tools or repair materials, so you're never stranded with a non-functional pickaxe.
