Manage Multiple Tools and Prevent Lockouts

Avoid Getting Stuck Without Working Tools

When the durability guard locks your primary tool, you need alternatives ready. Poor planning can leave you unable to mine or defend yourself in dangerous situations.

Smart Tool Management Strategy

1. Carry backups: Always bring at least two tools of each type (pickaxe, axe, shovel, sword) when leaving your base

2. Rotate usage: Switch between tools regularly so wear is distributed, preventing all tools from locking simultaneously

3. Organize inventory: Keep repair materials in a dedicated inventory slot for quick access

4. Set repair checkpoints: Establish safe locations with anvils at regular intervals (your base, mining outposts, etc.)

5. Track durability: Periodically check your tools' durability bars to anticipate when repairs will be needed

Emergency Preparation

If you find yourself with a locked primary tool and no alternatives:

  • Return to your base or nearest anvil immediately
  • Use a secondary tool to continue if available
  • Repair the locked tool before venturing out again

This mod rewards preparation and punishes carelessness, so plan your expeditions accordingly.
