How to Find and Identify the Two Swamp Hut Variants

Locating Swamp Huts

Swamp huts generate in swamp and mangrove swamp biomes, usually standing in shallow water. With this data pack installed, the hut you find will be one of two redesigned versions rather than the vanilla witch hut. Fly or boat along swamp edges at night to spot the lit windows, which make the structures far easier to notice than the original dark silhouette.

Telling the Variants Apart

Look at the building material before you enter:

• Mud hut variant — built from mud bricks and packed mud, with a chunkier, earthier silhouette. It tends to sit lower and blend into the swamp floor.
• Wooden hut variant — uses a plank-and-log palette with an alternate floor plan, including a different room arrangement and roofline.

Both variants keep the witch spawner behavior of the original, so expect hostile mobs. Approach from the water side and break a wall block to create your own entrance rather than funneling through the front door.

Before You Go In

Bring a bed if you plan to set a respawn point, and clear the interior methodically. The two variants have different interior layouts, so don't assume the chest or brewing stand sits in the same corner in both — sweep every room.
