Reduce Fire Overlay Obstruction During Combat
Understanding Fire Overlay Changes
When you catch fire in combat, the default Minecraft fire animation creates a tall flame overlay that blocks your view of opponents. This resource pack lowers the flame height so you can see over and around the fire effect while still knowing you're burning.
How to Use This Feature
Once the pack is active, fire overlays will automatically render at a reduced height. You don't need to adjust any settings—the change applies immediately.
In combat:
- Continue fighting normally when on fire
- Your line of sight to opponents remains mostly clear
- You can still see health bars and movement without obstruction
- The fire effect is still visible, so you know your status
Best Practices
Use this clearer view to your advantage by:
- Maintaining visual contact with your opponent while burning
- Tracking their position and movements more easily
- Responding faster to attacks without waiting for the fire to wear off
- Combining this with the removed particle effects for maximum visibility
This is especially useful in fast-paced modes like Duels where every frame of visibility matters.
