Start Your Spider Colony: First Steps as a New Spider
Choose Your Spider Form
Decide whether to play as a Female or Male spider. Females excel at breeding minions through egg sacs and are tougher in direct combat. Males are faster hunters and can fish in water using web fishing. Your choice affects your survival strategy and how you'll gather resources.
Find a Safe Nesting Location
Locate an area far from villages and human settlements—villagers will panic and attack you on sight. Underground caverns, deep forests, or remote islands work well. Avoid areas with heavy fire exposure, since your silk-covered body takes extra damage from flames.
Gather Initial Resources
Hunt mobs to fill your Silk Essence meter and trigger your first molt. This growth is essential for unlocking your full abilities. Collect string by destroying natural cobwebs with your Web Harvester passive skill—this gives you two string per web destroyed.
Build Your First Web Structures
Use Silken Cobweb blocks to create basic traps and territory markers. These blocks slow intruders and suffocate water mobs, but your allied spiders walk through freely. Craft silken storage chests for secure item storage within your colony.
Recruit Your First Allies
Use Spider Kinship to mark nearby wild spiders as friends with pheromones. They'll defend your territory and never attack you first, forming the foundation of your growing colony.
