Maintain and Repair Your Armored Elytra

Durability Mechanics

An armored elytra has two separate durability pools: one for the elytra's flight capability and one for the armor's protection. Both degrade independently as you use the item.

Repair Options

You can repair an armored elytra by:

• Anvil + Materials: Combine your armored elytra with the appropriate repair material (phantom membrane for elytra durability, or armor material for chestplate durability)
• Disassemble and Repair Separately: Use a grindstone to split the armored elytra, repair each piece individually at an anvil, then recombine them

Planning Ahead

Keep spare phantom membrane and armor materials in your inventory during long flights. Since the armored elytra combines two items, managing durability requires attention to both components. Consider which repair method is most efficient for your current resources.
