Combine Your First Elytra with Armor

Using the Anvil

To create an armored elytra, you'll need an elytra, a chestplate of your choice, and access to an anvil.

1. Place your anvil and open it

2. Put your elytra in the left slot

3. Put your chestplate in the right slot

4. The combined armored elytra will appear in the output slot

5. Collect it—you now have both flight and armor protection

Important Notes

The anvil will consume experience levels for this combination, so ensure you have enough XP before attempting. Any chestplate works: leather, iron, diamond, netherite, or modded variants. The resulting armored elytra retains the durability of both the elytra and the armor, so damaged pieces will create a damaged armored elytra.

If you're using a different mod version, the combination method might differ—check whether your version uses a smithing table or crafting recipe instead of an anvil.
