Find the Correct Game Name for an Animal
Use Standard Minecraft Naming
The mod requires exact entity type names in the format minecraft:animalname. These are the same names Minecraft uses internally.
Common Pet Names
Most domesticable animals follow this pattern:
minecraft:wolfminecraft:catminecraft:horseminecraft:donkeyminecraft:llamaminecraft:parrotminecraft:rabbitminecraft:fox
Check Mod-Added Animals
If you're using other mods that add custom animals, their entity names typically use the mod's namespace instead of minecraft:. For example, a custom mod might use custommod:creature. Check the mod's documentation or wiki for the exact name.
Test Unknown Names
If you're unsure, try adding the name to your config and test it in-game. If the config accepts it without errors, the name is correct. If the mod ignores it or logs an error, the name format is wrong—try variations or consult the animal mod's documentation.
