How to Fly Smoothly and Fast with Elytra in Do A Barrel Roll

Speed Comes from Diving

In this mod, Elytra glide physics are semi-realistic. You gain speed by pitching down and lose it by pitching up. Rockets give bursts of thrust, but sustained speed comes from managing your pitch.

Steps

1. Climb to a safe height with rockets.

2. Pitch down with the mouse to dive. Watch your speed build.

3. Just before you reach the ground, pitch up to convert that speed into a climb.

4. Roll gently to steer through the climb instead of yawing, which kills speed.

5. Use A and D only for small sideways corrections; heavy strafing slows you down.

6. Fire rockets during level flight or shallow climbs, not during steep dives, to get the most distance.

Tips

• Keep your wings level when you want maximum glide distance.
• Bank into turns rather than turning flat.
• Practice the dive-and-climb rhythm over open terrain until it feels natural.
• If you lose control, level out first, then resume diving.
